Your photos, videos, contacts, and email metadata are never uploaded or shared — we only use them locally on your device to help clean and organize your media and inbox efficiently.

1.1 Purpose

This policy helps you understand what data we collect (if any), how it's used, and your choices. We only collect your email if you reach out for support, feedback, or suggestions.

1.2 Commitment to Privacy

Poster App LLP is committed to protecting your privacy. All your media (photos, videos, contacts) and email metadata remains local on your device. All data stored locally on your device is deleted upon uninstall. Analytics data collected via third-party services is handled according to their respective retention policies. We never store or transfer your content to any external server. We do not sell, rent, or use user data for advertising purposes.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Contact Information: If you send feedback, suggestions, or support requests, we may collect your email address to respond to you.

2.2 Local Media and Contacts: To perform its cleaning functions, the app may request access to your photos, videos, and contacts — this data is used only locally within your device.

2.3 Gmail Data (Email Cleaner Feature): When you choose to sign in with Google, the app requests access to your Gmail account using the Gmail API with the gmail.modify scope. The app accesses the following data:

  • Email metadata: sender name, sender email address, subject line, and date.
  • Email headers: List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post headers (used to enable unsubscribe functionality).

The app does NOT access:

  • Email body content or message text.
  • Email attachments.
  • Draft emails.
  • Contact lists from your Google account.
  • Any other Google account data.

2.4 Analytics Data: We use Google Firebase services — specifically Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics — to collect limited device and usage information for the purpose of improving app performance and stability. These analytics services may collect:

  • Device information (device model, operating system version).
  • App usage behavior (features used, session duration).
  • Crash logs and diagnostics data.

This data does not include personal content such as photos, videos, contacts, or Gmail data. Analytics data is retained only as long as necessary for performance monitoring and is automatically deleted per Firebase's default retention policies. Gmail data is never included in analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Analyze crash reports and fix issues.

3.1 How We Use Gmail Data

Gmail data is used exclusively for the following purposes within the app:

  • To display your inbox emails organized by sender.
  • To move unwanted emails to trash on your behalf (emails can be recovered from Gmail Trash within 30 days).
  • To send unsubscribe requests to mailing lists using standard email headers (RFC 8058).

Gmail data is NOT used for:

  • Advertising, marketing, or promotional purposes.
  • Training machine learning or AI models.
  • Analytics, tracking, or profiling.
  • Selling, renting, or sharing with any third party.
  • Any purpose other than the app's core email cleaning features described above.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 Gmail Data: We do not share, transfer, sell, or disclose your Gmail data to any third party for any reason. Gmail data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any external service.

4.2 Trusted Third Parties: We may use the following Google and Apple services for app analytics and crash reporting only:

  • Firebase Analytics (Google): to monitor app usage patterns and improve the user experience.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google): to collect crash reports and diagnostics for stability improvements.
  • Apple Analytics: to help understand overall usage trends.

No personal photos, videos, contact data, or Gmail data is shared with these services. Data collected by these services is limited to anonymized device and usage information as described in Section 2.4.

4.3 No Selling of Data: We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data or any Google user data to any third party for any purpose, including advertising or marketing.

4.4 Legal Disclosures: We may disclose limited data only if required by law or to protect our legal rights. This does not apply to Gmail data, which is never stored on our servers and therefore cannot be disclosed.

5. Your Choices

5.1 Gmail Sign-In and Sign-Out: Gmail sign-in is entirely optional and user-initiated. You can sign out of your Gmail account at any time from the app's Settings screen. When you sign out:

  • All cached email metadata is immediately deleted from your device.
  • Your Gmail access token is revoked.
  • No Gmail data is retained after sign-out.

You can also revoke the app's access to your Gmail account at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5.2 Deleting the App: If you uninstall Photo Cleaner, all data stored locally on your device — including photos, videos, contact info, and cached Gmail metadata — will be permanently deleted from your device. Analytics data previously collected via third-party services (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) is handled according to their respective data retention policies.

5.3 Feedback Emails: You may contact us via email. We will only use your email to respond to your message and will not use it for any marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Security

We implement standard security practices to protect analytics data. No user-generated media or Gmail data is transmitted or stored on our servers. Gmail data is cached locally using an encrypted database.

6.1 Limitations: While we strive to keep your data safe, no method is 100% secure. Users are advised to keep their devices and OS updated to maintain security.

7. Google User Data

Our app uses Google services, including the Gmail API, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. Below is how we handle Google user data:

7.1 Gmail API Data: When the user opts in to the Email Cleaner feature by signing in with Google, the app accesses Gmail data (email metadata and headers only) using the gmail.modify scope. This data is used solely to provide the email cleaning features described in this policy. Gmail data is processed locally on the device and is never transmitted to our servers.

7.2 Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: These Google services may collect limited device and usage information, including device model, OS version, app usage behavior, and crash diagnostics. This data is:

  • Used only for app analytics, performance monitoring, and crash reporting.
  • Not used for advertising, profiling, or marketing.
  • Not shared with any other third parties beyond Google's Firebase services.

7.3 Data We Do NOT Collect: We do not access, collect, store, or share any personal Google user data beyond what is described in this policy. Specifically, we do not access Google Drive files, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, or any other Google account data.

8. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only use Gmail data to provide and improve the app's email cleaning features as described in this policy.
  • We do not transfer Gmail data to third parties unless necessary to provide or improve the app's features, comply with applicable laws, or as part of a merger/acquisition with prior user consent.
  • We do not use Gmail data for serving advertisements.
  • We do not allow humans to read Gmail data unless we have the user's affirmative agreement, it is necessary for security purposes, it is necessary to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
  • We do not use Gmail data for training machine learning or artificial intelligence models.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade Gmail data or any Google user data to any third party.

9. Data Retention

9.1 Local Data: All user data (photos, videos, contacts, Gmail metadata) is stored locally on the device. When the app is deleted, all such data is permanently deleted from the device. Poster App LLP does not retain any personal data after uninstallation.

9.2 Gmail Data: Gmail metadata is cached in an encrypted local database and is automatically deleted when:

  • The user signs out of their Gmail account within the app.
  • The user deletes the app from their device.

No Gmail data is ever stored on our servers.

9.3 Analytics Data: Analytics and crash data collected via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics is retained according to Google Firebase's default retention policies (typically up to 14 months for analytics data). This data is anonymized and does not include any personal content or Gmail data.

10. In-App Purchases

All purchases and subscriptions made via Apple App Store are handled by Apple. To manage subscriptions or request refunds, please visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

11. Children's Privacy

Photo Cleaner is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

12.1 Change Notification: We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected in the app or communicated via app updates. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
